Overdose Prevention Performance Monitoring Indicators and Medicolegal Death Investigation Data Modernization

Program Description: To combat the drug overdose epidemic in the United States, timely, comprehensive, and high-quality data are needed to detect emerging drug use trends, ensure a nimble approach, and drive evidence-based prevention and response strategies. This project will 1) build capacity among medicolegal death investigation (MDI) offices to collect and share death data and 2) identify and develop a set of overdose prevention indicators for local and state jurisdictions to track and improve efforts.
