Victor Strecher, Ph.D., M.P.H., today was presented with the 2014 Elizabeth Fries Health Education Award at the 65th Annual Meeting of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). The James F. and Sarah T. Fries Foundation honored Strecher for pioneering the development of computer tailored health programs that have transformed the way people learn about and manage their health.

(Hon.), a professor of health education at Teachers College and adjunct professor of sociomedical sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, was presented with the 2017 Elizabeth Fries Health Education Award at the 68th Annual Meeting of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE)
Andrea C. Gielen, Sc.D, Sc.M., a professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, who has dedicated her career to improving the health and safety of women and children, receives the 2016 Elizabeth Fries Health Education Award.
