Anyone who has ever smoked knows how difficult it is to quit. Whether it’s in the U.S., India or here on the sweltering streets of Manaus in northern Brazil, the challenges are the same. This week I’ve spoken with everyone from cab drivers to artists about their struggle to quit.

Some have been successful, others have not. Their stories have all been uniquely personal.
