Contagious Conversations: Improving Black Women’s Health

April is National Minority Health Month, an opportunity to examine the unique health needs and challenges faced by minority populations, particularly minority women, across the United States.

In the latest episode of our Contagious Conversations podcast, I discussed a range of women’s health issues with Dr. Melody McCloud, an obstetrician-gynecologist who became the first Black female to establish an OB-GYN practice in Dekalb County, GA. Dr. McCloud is the founder and medical director of Atlanta Women's Health Care, PC, and lectures nationwide on women’s health and social issues. Her recent book, entitled Black Women’s Wellness: Your “I’ve Got This!” Guide to Health, Sex & Phenomenal Living was released in January.

I encourage everyone to tune in for this timely conversation exploring the health challenges faced by minority women, and what steps all women can take to live longer, healthier lives.
