Injuries resulting from motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children 1-14 years old. When properly installed, child safety seats reduce fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers.

The CDC Experience: A Fellowship for Medical Students in Applied Epidemiology
To provide medical students with an applied hands-on training experience in epidemiology and public health. Eight competitively selected third- and fourth-year medical students from around the country will spend up to one full year at CDC.

CDC Global Health Odyssey
The Global Health Odyssey serves as CDC’s gateway to the public, and is dedicated to comprehensive scientific learning and outreach. Composed of innovative permanent exhibits representing the breadth of CDC’s work and history, topical changing exhibits, a theater and a classroom, this facility serves to educate all who visit about public health and the important work of CDC, with a special emphasis on curriculum-based educational workshops and camps targeting middle- and high-school students.
