“I got involved with the CDC Foundation to lend support to an organization that promised to make the world a safer place for my grandchildren.” - Bernard Marcus |
Through the CDC Foundation, you can help CDC scientists fight threats to health and safety that affect you, your family, your community, and the world. All gifts – regardless of size – are important. You may make an unrestricted gift to support the top priorities of CDC and the CDC Foundation, or you can make a restricted gift to a particular program, endowed fund or other restricted fund. The following are some options for designating your gift:
Unrestricted General Support
Ongoing unrestricted support allows the CDC Foundation to provide services for CDC that might not be possible through other channels of funding. When you provide general or “unrestricted” support for the CDC Foundation, your gift helps fund the highest priorities of CDC and the CDC Foundation. Unrestricted gifts are critical for the Foundation to help CDC attain its vision of healthy people in a healthy world through prevention.
Restricted Programmatic Support
Some individuals or organizations wish to invest in a specific programmatic area within CDC. These gifts typically help defray all or some of the costs of carrying out a scientific study, an information campaign or a training program. Often funding partners become engaged early on in a project to clearly understand its objectives or participate in the program design. Several partners may jointly fund a program to provide adequate resources to ensure its successful completion. To find out about contributing to a particular program, call the Development Office, 404-653-0790.
Endowed and Restricted Funds
Restricted funds are established to provide a permanent source of support for a specific program or activity at CDC. The CDC Foundation currently has 12 restricted funds that you may choose to support. To learn more about contributing to CDC Foundation restricted funds, call the Development Office, 404-653-0790.
