Giving Opportunities for Schools and Youth Groups
Many schools and youth groups wish to foster civic responsibility and encourage charity by organizing opportunities for their students or youth members to make a difference in the lives of other children. The CDC Foundation has several programs that directly impact the lives of children and families. The Foundation's Bed Nets for Children program helps purchase insecticide-treated bed nets for children in Africa where a child dies from malaria every 30 seconds. This program is especially suited to youth groups because a contribution of just $5 is enough to purchase a bed net that can protect up to three children. One of the Foundation's partners, Children for Children, has developed curriculum and tool kits for schools and youth groups to help raise money to purchase bed nets.
