Activities

The EIS Alumni Association fosters a spirit of loyalty to the EIS program through its activities. According to the by-laws, the established purposes of the EISAA are:

  1. To support and promote the welfare of the EIS program
  2. To maintain a strong relationship between the alumni and the EIS program
  3. To assist in the recruitment of qualified candidates for the EIS program
  4. To foster and sustain a sense of collegiality among its member
  5. To select the winner of the Alexander D. Langmuir Prize

Each year, the Association’s Executive Committee reviews submissions and selects a winner for the prestigious Alexander D. Langmuir Prize. This award is presented annually to an EIS officer who submits the most outstanding manuscript covering an epidemiologic investigation or study. Additionally, members are encouraged to nominate individuals for the Distinguished Friend of EIS Award, which is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the EIS program and its participants.
