Since 1995, the CDC Foundation has made a direct and dramatic impact on public health by helping CDC do more, faster, to make the world healthier and safer. As an independent, not-for-profit organization established by Congress, we offer individuals and organizations a powerful way to participate in CDC's mission.

We unite a wide range of private sector partners with CDC scientists to achieve common goals. Sometimes, these partnerships begin with brilliant CDC scientists who have ideas but lack the resources to test and implement them. At other times, individuals or organizations that share a passion for CDC's mission recognize that they can better accomplish their own public health goals by working through the CDC Foundation to engage and empower CDC scientists.

Building alliances with a large government agency like CDC can be daunting. That's why the CDC Foundation exists. We help our partners navigate the complexities of the public health landscape, advocating on their behalf, responsibly creating programs, and bridging gaps between the public and private sectors to advance the important work of CDC. Our success would not be possible without the generosity, confidence and support of the many "heroes" who join us in our mission.

The CDC Foundation has many heroes - individuals, foundations, corporations, CDC scientists and community partners - who work with us to advance CDC's mission. During our 10th Anniversary year, we are celebrating all of these heroes for their vital commitment and support.

The video will introduce you to five special individuals who, through their exemplary work, have made extraordinary contributions to the CDC Foundation and CDC.These five heroes have gone above and beyond their duties and obligations to make a substantive impact on public health and on the well-being of individuals and communities worldwide. Their inspiring stories show by example how the CDC Foundation helps connect ideas with resources, challenges with solutions, and passion with possibilities.
